John Paul II girls basketball opened the season with a dominant 50-10 win over visiting St. Andrew’s on Monday.
Tkai DeVore scored 16 points and Mary Foster Gaillard collected seven points and seven rebounds to lead the Golden Warriors. Taylor Michael scored seven points, and Abby Quinty and Jasmine Hamilton added six apiece.
“I couldn’t be more proud of my girls and their work ethic,” JPII coach Karen Floyd said. “They looked for each other on offense and hustled on defense.”
JPII (1-0) is off until hosting its own tournament from Nov. 28-30.
