Hilton Head Christian Academy withstood a strong challenge for a 15-13 win at Colleton Prep on Friday, running the Eagles winning streak to five games.
The Eagles didn’t generate much offense, as quarterback Hayden Shinn left early with an injury, but the defense shut down the War Hawks and Daniel Harrington scored a rushing touchdown and added an interception return for a score to lead HHCA.
Colleton Prep took an early 7-0 lead before Harrington’s pick-six pulled the Eagles within 7-6 and he put them ahead with a 7-yard rushing touchdown. Lukas O’Grady’s 37-yard field goal extended the lead to 15-7 and proved to be the difference when the Eagles stopped the War Hawks on a potential game-tying two-point conversion try in the fourth quarter.
HHCA (5-2) host John Paul II next Friday with the SCISA Region 2-2A title on the line.
