Clayton Boyles and Alora Orr won individual titles and helped May River’s boys to a fifth-place finish and the girls to a sixth-place showing at the SCHSL Class 3A Swimming Championships on Saturday in Columbia.
Boyles won the 100-yard breaststroke and finished second in the 200 IM to lead the Sharks on the boys’ side. Matheo Velasquez claimed runner-up finishes in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.
Orr won the 50-yard freestyle and teamed with Alondra Janicek, Shelby Gourley, and Allie Ingram for second-place finishes in the 200 and 400 free relays. Ingram also finished third in the 100 back.
Battery Creek’s girls finished 15th.
