Beaufort High’s volleyball team salvaged a split of the season series with crosstown rival Battery Creek by handing the Dolphins their first home loss of the season Tuesday.
The Eagles got off to a strong start and claimed a 3-1 (25-20, 25-19, 15-25, 25-18) victory.
McKayla Willingham had seven kills and Chase Vaigneur added six to lead the Eagles’ attack, while Hailey Lamar chipped in with five kills. Setters Madison Gallion and Zyaire Middleton directed the offense for Beaufort.
Beaufort (10-13-2) returns to Region 7-4A play with a trip to Bluffton on Thursday. Battery Creek travels to Wade Hampton for a Region 7-3A match Thursday.
