Hilton Head High’s girls tennis team went 2-2 against strong competition at the Bishop England Tournament over the weekend.
The Seahawks opened the weekend with a 6-0 win over Dreher, as Emily Ruckno, Madeleine Politzer, Sierra Seabra, Danielle Silvan, and Stella LeMehaute won their singles matches and Pia Kayser and Arianna Morales teamed up for a doubles victory.
HHIHS then lost a 4-3 heartbreaker to Mauldin, picking up singles victories from Ruckno, Seabra, and Silvan, and lost 6-0 to state power Wando.
The Seahawks finished the tournament with a 5-2 win over Dutch Fork. Ruckno, Sydney Hall, Seabra, and Silvan won singles matches, and Ruckno and Hall teamed up to win a doubles match.
The Seahawks (5-2) travel to Colleton County for a region match Tuesday.
