Hilton Head defeated Bluffton American 8-5 to claim the Dixie Youth Baseball Machine Pitch (7-8) District 8 title Monday night at Burton Wells Sports Complex in Beaufort.
Hilton Head won the first meeting 16-7 on Saturday, then defeated Hampton 11-0 later in the day to advance to the championship game. Bluffton American rebounded from its first loss to blank Beaufort 7-0 and earn a rematch with Hilton Head in the championship.
Both teams advance to the state tournament July 7-9 in Clemson.
