HS Golf: Bluffton’s Weathers Medals, May River 2nd At Lower State

Bluffton’s Ricky Weathers earned individual medalist honors and May River finished second in the team standings at the Class 3A Lower State boys golf meet Monday.

Weathers shot 1-over-par 73 to finish atop the leaderboard and earn a spot in next week’s state championship. The Sharks advanced as a team with a total of 314, finishing five shots behind champion Bishop England.

Brandon McBride and Drew Weary both shot 76 and Andrew Swanson shot 78 to lead May River. Blake Kopke (84) and Brody Morgan (89) rounded out the lineup.

The Class 3A state tournament is Monday and Tuesday at Cross Creek Plantation in Seneca.
