A walk-off home run sent Bluffton to a season-ending 5-2 loss at Strom Thurmond in the Class 3A district playoffs Monday.
Hunter Cadiere’s three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh sent the Rebels to the district title.
Griffin Yeager was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Noah Simonsen was 3-for-4 with a double for Bluffton.
Yeager’s two-run single gave the Bobcats a 2-1 lead in the third, but the Rebels tied it in the bottom of the inning.
The Bobcats loaded the bases in the top of the seventh, but Simonsen lined out to third to end the inning and Cadiere ended it with his blast in the bottom of the frame.
Sean Sutay went the distance for the Bobcats, allowing five runs (three earned) and 10 hits with three strikeouts.
Bluffton finishes with an 18-8 overall mark.
