Beaufort High bounced back from a rocky first inning to claim a 14-4 win over Dreher in an elimination game in the Class 4A district tournament Saturday.
The Eagles fell behind 3-0 in the first inning but answered with a four-run second and an eight-run fourth to break it open.
Kidron Martin was 4-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and four runs, and Madison Sanchez was 3-for-5 with two triples, five RBIs and two runs to lead the Eagles at the plate. Emily Cook went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, and two RBIs, and Lillian Sumner was 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs, and two runs.
Cook allowed one run and six hits over 5 1/3 innings of relief with six strikeouts for the win.
The Eagles (10-9) travel to Myrtle Beach on Monday needing two wins to advance to the Lower State tournament. The Seahawks beat Beaufort 7-0 on Thursday.
