Jeff Hays and JR Richardson combined on a one-hitter as Hilton Head High beat visiting Beaufort High 3-1 on Friday.
Hays struck out five and allowed one hit over four innings to earn the win, and Richardson struck out three and allowed one run over three frames to nail down the save.
Matt MeBane was 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI, and two runs to lead the Seahawks at the plate. Colin Gross added a hit and an RBI.
Wade Olivarri had the lone hit for the Eagles.
The Seahawks (9-9, 5-5) clinched the No. 3 seed and the Eagles (15-5, 7-3) will be the No. 2 seed in the Class 4A playoffs starting Tuesday.
