Hilton Head High’s girls gave coach Katie O’Sullivan her first postseason victory with a 17-3 rout of visiting May River in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs Tuesday.
Lauren Reed led the Seahawks with four goals, three assists, and four ground balls, while Carly Wilson, Anna Evans, and Lily Joy Tothero each added three goals and an assist. Trinity Feltner, Lexie Locker, and Katie Bennett each had a goal and five ground balls, and Lily Neiderer added a goal. Sophie Spahr made four saves in net for Hilton Head.
The Seahawks (13-2) will host St. James in the second round Thursday. St. James defeated Waccamaw 16-1 on Tuesday.
