May River scored four runs in the seventh inning to break open a close game and claim a 7-2 win at Colleton County on Wednesday.
Jeffrey Hodge went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Josh Patterson was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Cooper George was 2-for-3 to lead the Sharks at the plate.
Four May River pitchers combined on a three-hitter. Nick Bass started and allowed one run and one hit over two innings, striking out three. Patterson pitched two scoreless frames, Kamryn Gleason allowed a run over 1 2/3 innings, and George recorded the final four outs for the save.
The Sharks (15-3) play a key Region 8-3A series against Wade Hampton next week, beginning with a road game at 7 p.m. Monday.
