Bluffton rallied from a five-run deficit to win 7-6 in eight innings Friday at Wade Hampton, completing a sweep of the three-game Region 8-3A series.
The Red Devils scored four runs in the first inning and led 6-1 after four before Bluffton rallied for four in the fifth and one in the sixth to force extra innings. The Bobcats plated the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth when the Red Devils misplayed Hunter Eldridge’s fly ball, allowing Jordan Kennedy to score.
Griffin Yeager was 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs, Kennedy was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Sean Sutay and Eldridge drove in runs for the Bobcats.
Sutay earned the win with six strong innings in relief of Noah Simonsen, limiting the Red Devils to one unearned run and one hits while striking out four.
Bluffton (9-4, 7-2) plays in the Hilton Head High Seahawk Invitational starting Monday.
