HS Soccer: Sharks Rally Past Dolphins For 8th Straight Win

May River boys’ soccer recovered from an early deficit to win 4-1 at Battery Creek on Tuesday for the Sharks’ eighth straight win.

Jordan Gwyn gave the Dolphins an early lead with a goal in the seventh minute, but the Sharks took control from there. Joel Fleek finished an assist from Conner Golden to tie it in the 21st minute, and Fleek scored again off an assist from Chris Pineda in the 40th minute to give May River a 2-1 halftime lead.

Mikey Chappelear’s goal in the 64th minute made it 3-1, and Nick Lewis scored on a free kick in the 77th minute to cap the scoring.

Tony Rodriguez made one save in the win.

May River (12-1, 3-0) hosts Wade Hampton for a region matchup at 7 p.m. Friday. Battery Creek (2-3, 1-2) travels to Ridgeland-Hardeeville at 7 p.m. Friday.
