Battery Creek softball swept a three-game series from Region 8-3A rival Wade Hampton on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Alexis Ortiz and Michaux Gee combined on a five-inning no-hitter in a 17-0 road win in Tuesday’s opener. Ortiz struck out eight over three perfect innings, and Gee compiled four strikeouts and walked one over two frames. Kelsey Hill (3-for-4, 3 runs, 6 RBIs) and Emily Crosby (3-for-4, 3 runs, 2 RBIs) led the offense, and Hill, Crosby, and Ortiz all hit home runs.
The Dolphins took both ends of a home doubleheader Wednesday, winning 10-0 and 17-1 with both games ending after three innings. Ortiz struck out eight and allowed two hits and one walk in the first game, and she also knocked in two runs. Crosby (3-for-3, 3 runs, RBI) and Journeigh Doray (2-for-2, 2 runs, 3 RBIs) led the offense.
In the finale, Crosby (2-for-2, 3 runs, 2 RBIs), Hill (2-for-2, 3 runs, 2 RBIs), Margaret Schubert (2-for-2, 2 RBIs), and Ortiz (1-for-1, 2 runs, 3 RBIs) led the way at the plate. Doray earned the win on the mound, striking out two and allowing one run, two hits, and two walks.
The Dolphins (3-0) host Thomas Heyward on Tuesday.
