May River’s baseball team went 3-1 over the weekend at the Comporium Tournament in Gilbert.
After opening with a 4-3 loss to Byrnes, the Sharks bounced back to beat Gilbert (4-0), James Island (4-1) and Mauldin (11-3).
Cooper George, Nick Bass, and Kamryn Gleason picked up wins on the mound, and Logan Wake recorded a save against James Island.
Wake led the Sharks at the plate with five hits on the weekend, including two doubles, a triple, four RBIs and five runs. Jeffery Hodge had four hits, including two doubles and a triple, and drove in four runs; Josh Patterson had four hits and two RBIs; and Josh Reddy had four hits and scored twice.
The Sharks host Colleton County at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
