Mikey Chappelear scored a hat trick for the second straight match to lead May River’s boys’ soccer team to a 6-2 win over Beaufort High on Thursday.
Joel Fleek added two goals and Conner Golden had a goal and an assist for the Sharks, while Nick Lewis and Ryan Chafer added assists.
“Our attack was consistent throughout the match,” May River coach Misael Garzon said. “The team did a great job moving the ball around and maintaining pressure on their goal.”
Aki Carter and Peyton Langford scored goals for Beaufort. Brandon Woodley made eight saves for the Eagles. Tony Rodriguez made three saves to earn the win in goal for the Sharks.
May River (6-1) hosts Midland Valley at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The Eagles (0-2) host Stall in their Region 8-4A opener at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
