Constan K’s 17 As USCB Baseball Sweeps Lions

The USCB baseball team picked up its first two Sun Conference wins of the season with a doubleheader sweep of Florida Memorial on Friday.

Cam Smith went 4-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs, Alex Murphy went deep, and Chris Vazquez was 3-for-4 with three RBIs in an 18-8 win in the opener.

Nick Constan set the school’s single-game record with 17 strikeouts in a four-hitter in the second game, and Jay Newell drove in all four runs with a pair of doubles and a sacrifice fly in a 4-1 win for the Sand Sharks.

USCB (4-6, 2-4) hosts the Lions for the series finale at noon Saturday.
