The Ridgeland-Hardeeville boys raced out to a big early lead and were never threatened en route to a 72-59 win over visiting Dillon in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs Friday.
Rashamel Butler poured in 26 points to go with 10 rebounds and seven assists, and Devin Butler added 22 points and five boards for the Jaguars, who led 22-6 after the first quarter.
The Jaguars will host Bishop England in the third round Tuesday, but they will likely have to do so at a neutral site. SCHSL rules require a venue with a capacity of at least 1,500 for third-round games – a requirement that has forced the Jaguars to move to neutral sites the past three years. RHHS coach and athletics director Jeremiah Faber told the Jasper County Sun Times he will petition to play the game at home but expects to play at Battery Creek High School.
