HSBB: HHP Boys Grind Out Win To Clinch Region Crown

Hilton Head Prep’s boys clinched their second straight region crown with a 45-38 win over Bethesda Academy on Tuesday.

The Dolphins led just 19-18 at halftime in the defensive struggle but outscored the Blazers 10-5 in the third quarter to open things up.

Avern Montaque recorded his 11th double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Dolphins, while Tyrone Calloway added 13 points and Haddith Stewart scored nine points and was a standout at the defensive end. Prep’s Stone McDonald returned from illness to grab 10 rebounds.

HHP (21-1, 12-0) plays at Hilton Head Christian Academy on Friday.
