The RBC Heritage HSBB Players of the Week For Jan. 29 Are …

The private-school voters turned out this week, as SCISA stars swept the RBC Heritage High School Basketball Player of the Week honors.

It was a bit of a landslide on the girls’ side, as Beaufort Academy fans mobilized to make point guard Kendall Duncan the Player of the Week after she averaged 11.5 points while leading the Eagles to a 2-0 record last week.

The boys’ race was a bit closer, but Hilton Head Prep’s Avern Montaque (12.0 points, 9.3 rebounds in 3-0 week) still managed to double up runner-up Rashamel Butler of Ridgeland-Hardeeville.

For the record, my votes went to John Paul II’s Tkai DeVore (26 points, six rebounds, five steals in one game last week) and Butler, who averaged 25 points, 9.5 rebounds and eight assists in two wins.

Congrats to Duncan and Montaque. Let’s do it again next week.
