Bluffton’s girls held off a second-half surge from visiting Effingham County for a 51-44 non-region victory Tuesday.
Judaah Mitchell scored 18 points, Tatyana Aiken added 14, and Kennedy Barber had 11 for the Bobcats. Bluffton led 25-18 at halftime and saw the lead dwindle to one-point entering the fourth quarter before pulling away.
The Bobcats (8-9, 0-2) resume region play Friday, hosting Ridgeland-Hardeeville.
