John Paul II’s boys avenged last week’s loss to Andrew Jackson with a dominant 84-45 win Friday, advancing to the championship game of the 4m Metals Golden Warrior Holiday Tournament.
The Golden Warriors jumped out to a 23-8 lead and cruised from there against the Confederates, who won the first meeting 56-45 just eight days earlier.
Amere Cherry scored 25 points, and Melik Frost and Rashad Battiste added 15 apiece to lead JPII.
The Golden Warriors (4-6) advance to the championship game at 6 p.m. Saturday against Cathedral Academy, which advanced with a 68-35 win over Beaufort Academy.
