Four area boys basketball teams will be among the six-team field for the Bobcat Classic, which tips off Thursday afternoon at Bluffton High School.
The tournament tips off at 4 p.m. Thursday with an intra-county matchup between Whale Branch and Battery Creek. The teams have split two meetings this season with each winning on the other’s home court.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville (7-0) takes the court for the second game, facing Piedmont (N.C.), while the host Bobcats (8-3) play the finale on day one, facing South Point (N.C.).
Bluffton has lost three of their last four games following a 7-0 start and went 1-2 at the Carolina Forest Panther Classic last week.
Whale Branch (5-5) lost its first two games at the Seahawk Holiday Classic last week before closing the tournament on a high note with a 44-36 win over Robertsdale (Ala.).
Battery Creek (4-7) has dropped three of its last four following a three-game win streak, though the three defeats have come by a combined 10 points.
