Battery Creek’s girls pulled away in the second half to beat Hilton Head High 49-28 on Tuesday.
Despite playing without leading scorer Miley Ray and with several others fighting illness, the Seahawks were within 24-18 at halftime before the undefeated Dolphins pulled away.
Kevea Sanders had 15 points and four rebounds and Ta’Quasia Lampkin collected 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals to lead the Dolphins. Trinity Coney contributed 11 points.
Caroline Brammer led the Seahawks with eight points, while Trinity Feltner added six.
The Seahawks (2-5) begin the Seahawk Holiday Classic on Thursday, facing Silverdale Academy (Tenn.) at 7 p.m.
The Dolphins (10-0) are off until facing South Gwinnett on Dec. 28 in the first round of the McDonald’s Shootout in Hartwell, Ga.
