Bluffton’s girls surged back from an early deficit to reclaim the lead before falling 50-45 at Effingham County on Monday.
The Bobcats trailed 22-18 at halftime but outscored the Rebels 18-10 in the third quarter to take a four-point lead to the final period. Effingham County outpaced the Bobcats 18-9 in the final stanza.
Tatyana Aiken scored 16 points and Allayah Bryan added nine to lead Bluffton.
The Bobcats (5-3) travel to Fleming Island, Fla., for the Battle on the Island tournament beginning Thursday.
