Beaufort Academy’s boys basketball team won its region opener Wednesday, beating Colleton Prep 45-36.
Sophomore Dawson Coleman led all scorers with 20 points, while eighth-grader Rowan Higgins helped seal the win with five clutch free throws down the stretch to finish with 10 points. Sophomore William Tumlin added nine points for the Eagles.
BA (1-0) will be back in action at home on Monday against Clarendon Hall at 6:30.
