HSBB: JPII Boys Light It Up Vs. Habersham

Three players scored in double figures as the John Paul II boys basketball team routed Habersham School 84-50 on the road Friday.

The Golden Warriors put up a season-high for points despite playing without one of their top offensive threats in Rashad Battiste, who got the night off on the second day of back-to-back games as he works his way back from a knee injury.

Amere Cherry scored 20 points, Thomas Kender finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Nyleem Wright added 11 points and 11 boards to lead JPII. Freshmen Sam Summa (eight points, 12 rebounds) and Malone Kinard-Huisinger (nine points) also had big nights.

JPII (2-3) hosts Memorial Day on Monday.
