Cam Adams scored four touchdowns, but May River came up short in a 41-34 loss to visiting Wade Hampton on Friday.
Adams scored three rushing touchdowns and caught a TD pass from Joseph Tapscott late in the third quarter, after which Tapscott hit Zach Brzezinski for the two-point conversion to tie it at 27.
The Red Devils answered with back-to-back touchdown drives, though, and the Sharks couldn’t convert an onside kick following Adams’ fourth score of the night.
Tapscott also threw a touchdown pass to Vance Summers.
Pernell Maxwell had three touchdown runs for Wade Hampton, which wrapped up the outright Region 8-3A title.
May River (2-7, 1-3) will travel to face Region 7-3A champion Timberland in the first round of the playoffs next week.
