The Thomas Heyward Academy volleyball team dropped a close five-set match at Colleton Prep on Thursday.
The Rebels fell 3-2 (21-25, 25-16, 25-19, 21-25, 15-8) in the SCISA Region 4-2A match. Ivy Bryan had 11 kills, 15 digs, four aces, and three assists to lead THA. Jana Christian added a team-high 15 digs along with five kills and two aces, Bailey Brown had 11 assists, eight digs, and three aces, Brooklyn Guardino collected five kills and eight digs, and Victoria Standard had eight assists.
On Tuesday, the Rebels beat Hilton Head Prep 3-0 (25-14, 26-24, 25-14). Standard had 17 assists and Brown added 15 assists and eight aces. Bryan had a team-high 10 kills, five aces, and four digs, Christian added seven kills, four aces, and eight digs, Guardino had five kills and four aces, and Chelsea Schroeder collected seven kills.
The Rebels play another key region match Tuesday, hosting rival John Paul II at 6 p.m.
