HS Volleyball: JP2 Rallies For Five-Set Win Over HHP

The John Paul II volleyball team dropped the first two sets before rallying for a five-set win over Hilton Head Prep on Wednesday.

The Golden Warriors stormed back to win 3-2 (17-25, 22-25, 25-18, 25-23, 15-13) with Marissa Majorkiewicz leading the charge with 15 kills and 17 digs. Abigail Barker added 10 kills and 14 digs for JP2, while Ayannah Thompson collected nine kills and two blocks in her first career start and Darby O’Donnell racked up 41 assists.

Hilton Head Prep’s Keira Wojcikiewicz had eight kills, 27 assists, 11 digs, and three aces, while Olivia Mitchell added nine kills and 21 digs. Kelsey O’Connor had 48 digs, Sarah Orie added 26, and Alana McCallion contributed 10 kills and nine digs.

JP2 (7-2, 4-1 region) plays at Beaufort Academy at 6 p.m. Thursday, while Hilton Head Prep hosts Veritas Academy at 3 p.m. Friday.
