Battery Creek High School turned in a dominant defensive effort to earn its first victory of the season with a 23-0 victory over visiting Whale Branch Early College High School on Saturday.
Trey Booth scored three rushing touchdowns, and the Dolphins’ defense took care of the rest, shutting down Whale Branch to give coach Walter Wilson his first win at Battery Creek.
The Warriors also lost quarterback Marion Smalls to an arm injury.
Battery Creek (1-3) hosts Wilson’s former team, Calhoun County, on Friday, while Whale Branch (0-3) plays at Bluffton.
