The Hilton Head Island High School volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Tuesday, losing to Calvary Day and Effingham County.
After breezing through the first set against Effingham County, the Seahawks dropped the final two sets to lose the match 2-1 (15-25, 25-11, 25-17). Lexie Standen led HHIHS with five kills, while Brooke Simons collected eight digs, Olivia Janson had three blocks, and Sophia Kaup served three aces.
Calvary Day swept the Seahawks 2-0 (25-17, 25-21). Standen had 16 assists, Kate Schwartz collected six kills and nine digs, and Janson had two blocks for HHIHS.
The Seahawks host Beaufort High for a key Region 8-4A match at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
