HS Volleyball: HHCA Sweeps JP2 In Region Clash

Hilton Head Christian Academy’s volleyball team swept region rival John Paul II on Monday, winning 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-12).

Lauryn Qualls and Olivia Reichenbach each racked up 12 kills to lead the Eagles, who continue to play without all-state hitter Sydney DeSimone because of an ankle injury. Qualls also had a team-high 12 digs.

Samantha Norton added four kills and two blocks for the Eagles, and Amy Murphy had four kills and two aces.

Marissa Majorkiewicz led the Golden Warriors with five kills and nine digs, while Abigail Barker added four kills and eight digs. Darby O’Donnell collected 11 assists, and Mary Foster Gaillard had seven digs.

John Paul II hosts Charleston Collegiate at 6 p.m. Wednesday, while HHCA travels to the St. Vincent’s Academy Tournament on Saturday.
