HS Volleyball: Seahawks Split Season-Opening Tri-Match

The Hilton Head Island High School volleyball team opened its season by splitting a tri-match Tuesday. The Seahawks defeated May River High school 2-0 (25-16, 25-14) and lost to St. Vincent’s Academy 2-0 (25-15, 26-24).

Lexie Standen totaled 25 assists and five aces for HHIHS on the evening, while Sydney Janson led the team with 13 kills. Carly Timperman had a team-high nine digs, Sophia Kaup collected five aces, and Lydia Schubert recorded two blocks.

The Seahawks (1-1) host Berkeley and Stall for a Region 8-4A tri-match at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
