Former HHCA Star Crowe Qualifies For U.S. Amateur

Bluffton resident Trace Crowe shot 12-under-par 132 over 36 holes in sectional qualifying Monday at Monroe (N.C.) Country Club to earn a spot in next month’s U.S. Amateur Championship.

Crowe, a former Hilton Head Christian Academy standout and current Auburn star, fired rounds of 62 and 70 to finish second and earn one of three qualifying spots.

The three qualifiers advance to the U.S. Amateur Championship at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., from Aug. 14-20.
