Two Bluffton Teams Advance In All-Star State Tourneys

Two Bluffton all-star teams stayed alive Sunday, while another was eliminated in Dixie baseball and softball state tournament play.

The Bluffton American Machine Pitch (age 9-10) all-stars won twice in the elimination bracket in Lexington, beating Pee Dee 13-3 and edging Summerville 12-11. Bluffton will need to win twice again Monday – at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. – to advance to Tuesday’s championship game.

Bluffton’s softball teams split their games on Sunday in Dillon. The Darlings (age 7-8) defeated the host team 10-7 to advance in the elimination bracket and will play at 5 p.m. Monday. The Angels (age 9-10) lost 9-2 to Georgetown, ending their playoff run.
