Bluffton Machine Pitch All-Stars Punch Ticket To State Tourney

The Bluffton American all-stars punched their ticket to the AA Machine Pitch (age 7-8) state tournament Tuesday night, winning two games to complete an undefeated run through the District 8 tournament.

Bluffton American routed Colleton County 19-2 in the semifinals before beating Hilton Head 14-6 in the championship game to earn a berth in the state tournament beginning July 8 in Lexington.

The Bluffton American team also moved within one victory of advancing to state in the Minors (age 9-10) tournament with a 14-0 win over Hilton Head on Tuesday at Crossings Park on Hilton Head Island. Bluffton faces Colleton County at 6 p.m. tonight in the championship game. Colleton County advanced to the title game with a 13-9 win over Bluffton National in an elimination game.

The Bluffton Darlings (age 9-10) softball all-stars continue their best-of-3 series against Goose Creek at 6 p.m. tonight in Walterboro. Bluffton needs one win to advance to state, while Goose Creek would need to win twice to advance.

Bluffton’s O-Zone (age 11-12) all-stars conclude pool play in their district tournament with a matchup against Hilton Head at 6:30 p.m. tonight at Crossings Park.
