Beaufort might have another weightlifting wunderkind on its hands.
Following in the footsteps of his hometown hero, CJ Cummings, 11-year-old Justice Little of Beaufort put on a dominant performance at the Nike National Youth Weightlifting Championships on Friday, claiming seven gold medals.
Little, who trains with Crossfit of Beaufort, swept the snatch, clean and jerk, and overall titles in both the 11-and-under and 13-and-under divisions in the 31kg (68 lb.) weight class. Little lifted 27kg in the snatch and 37kg in the clean and jerk, and he also was given the top award for technique.
