There was no denying Williamsburg Academy’s perfect season this time.
Teague Ward found the end zone four times on a pair of rushing scores and two receiving touchdowns, and the Stallions held off a tremendous effort from Colleton Prep’s Cole Davis to down the War Hawks 41-21 and capture the SCISA 2A state title Saturday at Charleston Southern University.

Davis struck for two touchdown passes including a 99-yard flare to Walker Bryan to open the scoring after a Colleton Prep fumble recovery and a 66-yard dime to Caden Crosby, but the War Hawks had no answer for the Stallions’ dynamic rushers. Williamsburg broke a 14-14 tie late in the first half with a 4-yard Ward scamper and scored 20 straight points in the second half including a perfectly executed hook-and-lateral from Wes Smith to Camden Moore.
Colleton Prep’s defense made a few stops to hang around, but the red-hot Stallions eventually pulled away with their dominant ground attack. Moore led the Stallion backs with 147 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. Ward delivered a sensational night, recording 93 rushing yards and two scores on 17 carries while adding four receptions for 52 yards and a pair of touchdowns and anchoring the defense.
Cole Davis gave it all he could for Colleton Prep, completing 7-of-16 passes for 226 yards and two touchdowns alongside 45 rushing yards and a score on 16 carries.
Bryan and Crosby caught a 99 and 66-yard pass respectively, and Caleb Davis tallied 41 rushing yards on five carries with two receptions for 17 yards. Hayden Williams came up big at wide receiver, making three catches for 44 yards.
Colleton Prep finishes an outstanding season with a record of 11-2.
