HSBBB: Hot 2nd half helps Golden Warriors blow out Hurricanes

John Paul II boys basketball tuned up for a tough regular-season finale and its pending playoff assignment with a 72-33 road win over the Coastal Hurricanes on Monday. 

All nine Golden Warriors scored as JPII turned a narrow 25-20 halftime lead into a rout with an offensive explosion in the second half.

Christian Tilton scored a game-high 19 points with four rebounds and six steals in limited minutes, while Mark Knight added 18 points, 10 rebounds, and five steals, and Jackson Ogden contributed 15 points and three steals.

Micah Faith scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Hurricanes.

JPII closes out the regular season Tuesday at Hilton Head Prep before the SCISA 2A playoff brackets are released Wednesday.
