John Paul II girls basketball picked up another region win at home Friday, beating Holy Trinity 37-12 on Senior Night.


Maddie Heathcott put together another strong stat line with eight points, eight rebounds, and six steals, and Ru Bennett played her best game with eight points, six boards, and two steals. Brady Mahoney added six points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks for JPII, and Cayce Graves had five points, four rebounds, and seven steals.
“All three of our seniors scored, and in true fashion were very unselfish with their teammates,” JPII coach Karen Floyd said. “We passed the ball well in the second half, giving everyone lots of looks.”
Lilly Cooler had eight points and four rebounds and Eliza Gaillard grabbed 11 boards for the Mighty Lions.
JPII (6-6, 5-2) hosts region power Hilton Head Christian Academy on Tuesday. Holy Trinity (10-6, 1-4) hosts Thomas Heyward on Tuesday.
