HSBBB: JPII fades in fourth at Bethesda

John Paul II boys basketball dropped a second consecutive region game on the road Tuesday, falling 55-47 at Bethesda Academy. 

The game was tight throughout, with the Golden Warriors trailing by three at halftime before closing the gap to one heading to the fourth quarter, but the Blazers outscored JPII 12-5 in the final period to pull away. 

Mark Knight put up 19 points, four rebounds, and four assists to lead JPII, while Austin Floyd added 11 points and three steals, and Christian Tilton had seven points and seven boards.

Jayden Newton scored 14 points, and Joshua Quarterman added 13 for the Blazers.

JPII (9-5, 5-3) hosts Holy Trinity on Friday.
