Bridges Prep boys basketball ran its winning streak to eight games and opened Region 6-1A play with a huge victory Tuesday, holding on for a 49-46 win over visiting Bethune-Bowman.


Senior point guard Damien Bee continued his outstanding campaign with 12 points, seven rebounds, eight assists, and five steals to lead a balanced effort from the Bucs. His brother, sophomore Desmond Locke, added eight points, eight boards, five assists, and three steals, and Davion Washington had nine points, eight rebounds, and two steals.
Big man Tony Jones also had a solid night with five points, 11 boards, and four blocks for Bridges, and Matthew Torres went 2-of-3 from 3-point range for eight points.
The Bucs (10-2, 1-0) travel to Estill to continue region play on Jan. 4.
