HSGBB: Heathcott helps Golden Warriors hammer Hurricanes

John Paul II girls basketball rolled to a 66-14 home win over the Coastal Hurricanes homeschool program in the Golden Warriors’ season opener Wednesday.

All 10 players scored for the Golden Warriors with Maddie Heathcott leading the charge with 16 points. Brady Mahoney added 10, and Alexa Eaddy, Ru Bennett, and Caroline Gilmour each scored eight for JPII.

“Everyone scored and played a lot of minutes,” JPII coach Karen Floyd said. “We mixed the defense up quite a bit tonight with a lot success. This was a nice confidence builder going into the season.”

JPII (1-0) is back in action at home against Patrick Henry on Dec. 10.
