A trio of Lowco area teams closed out the regular season ranked in the top 10 in their classifications in the most recent S.C. Prep Football Media Poll released Tuesday.
May River climbed two more spots to No. 7 in Class 4A after a 33-16 win at Hilton Head High last week. The region champion Sharks (8-2) open the Class 4A playoffs at home against North Myrtle Beach on Friday. Beaufort High maintained its No. 10 ranking with a 44-6 win at Colleton County. The Eagles (8-2) will host South Florence in the first round.
Whale Branch was idle last week but held onto its No. 5 ranking in Class 1A. The Warriors (6-1) host East Clarendon to open the Class 1A playoffs Friday.
