HSFB: Daley, Dolphins grind out tough win at Bethesda

After a sloppy performance a week ago, Hilton Head Prep coach Dave Adams needed the ground game to step up against Bethesda Academy. The offensive line got the job done — and so did Loncelle Daley.

The junior back exploded for 151 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Dolphins to a hard-fought 22-14 road victory over the Blazers.

After a back and forth first half with Hilton Head Prep clinging to a 15-14 lead, the Dolphin defense came up huge, shutting out Bethesda the rest of the way while Daley added his third rushing score of the night.

Jake Rodney-Brown delivered a monster game on the defensive side, making eight tackles and recovering three fumbles. Nick Rose was uncontainable all night long, sacking the quarterback three times.

Tristan Bonomo completed 5-of-15 passes for 78 yards, and Trevor Weldon nailed a 40-yard field goal in the first half.

Hilton Head Prep (4-1) returns home Friday for an important region opener against Beaufort Academy.
