HSFB: Whale Branch cruises to another shutout win (+📹)

Round 2 of Region 7-1A play looked a lot like the first round for Whale Branch, which rolled to a 34-0 home win over Military Magnet on Friday in Seabrook.

Joseph Hicks scored three touchdowns on the ground and Kai’Shawn Jenkins threw TD passes to Keith Chisholm and Ray Pryor as the Warriors rolled to an easy region win at home.

The Warriors got things rolling early with a long kickoff return that set up Hicks for a 7-yard TD to open the scoring, and the Lowco’s leader in rushing yards per game kept rolling with a 63-yard sweep and an 85-yard burst later in the evening.

Whale Branch got it done through the air, too, as Jenkins found open receivers who made incredible moves on their way to the end zone. Chisholm took a short pass to the left side and juked a defender for a 48-yard TD, and Pryor broke a tackle and bolted up the right sideline for a 75-yard score.

The Warriors’ defense put up its second straight shutout in another dominant effort, which includes an interception from Clifton Major.

Whale Branch (3-0, 2-0) hosts Baptist Hill for a region showdown Friday.
