Thomas Heyward volleyball fought off a sweep but couldn’t complete the comeback in a 3-1 loss at Patrick Henry on Tuesday.
Last year’s SCISA 1A state runners-up, the Patriots jumped out to a quick lead, winning the first two sets 25-14 and 25-12, as the Rebels struggled to find holes in the Patrick Henry defense.

THA made an adjustment and rallied to win the third set by a convincing 25-12 margin, but the Rebels couldn’t keep it rolling, as subpar passing left them unable to muster an attack in a 25-13 loss in the fourth set.
Keleigh Bowers had a solid night for THA, hitting 13 of 14 serves with two aces to go with a team-high 17 digs and four kills. Megan Bennett was perfect from the service line with an ace and added four kills and four assists.
THA (1-2) will host Holy Trinity on Thursday.
