Fellow sophomore Nico Mieres tacked one on for May River in the second half, but Beckham capitalized on a defensive lapse from the Sharks to pull one back less than a minute later and get within 3-2.
The Sharks returned the favor, as the Bengals scored an own goal to seal the result.
May River was able to move the ball and consistently put pressure on Beckham’s goal throughout the night, while Sharks keepers Dallas Wisdom and Brayden Garcia were rarely threatened, combining for two saves in the win.
May River (8-5, 5-4) travels to Beaufort High on Thursday for the regular-season finale.
